NEUROLAB

Neurotrend research laboratory Neurobarometer was created by our team to detect neurophysiological responses of consumers when they interact with various types products and services.

This is a fast-deploying integrated solution for everyone who is interested in true information on consumer habits, believes  and attitudes.

Subjects of research can be: sounds, words, images, video sequences, texts, aromas, sensations in the process of consumption and many more.

Specially developed software organises the synchronous operation of the equipment and allows you to process the measurement results according to self designed metrics.

Neurobarometer was developed by Neurotrend as part of Neurobarometer R&D in 2017 - 2020 period.

More than 10 years of experience in the field of neuromarketing research, as well as neurophysiology, economics, sociology, psychology, mathematics and programming have made it possible to create this complex that meets the advanced requirements of the research industry.

Neuromarketing Research is conducted in 13 research centres across the globe

N-TREND BASE (NEUROLABORATORY BASE EQUIPMENT)

EYE-TRACKER

N-Trend-ET500

  • Scanning frequency - 500 Hz

  • The accuracy of determining the direction of gaze - 0.4 degrees

  • Built-in IR camera that allows you to capture the respondent's face with HD resolution - 1280x720 and 25 Hz frame rate

  • Eye to IR camera distance within: 0.5-0.8m

  • The video oculographic module ensures functioning as intended when the respondent's eyes move within the boundaries of ± 20 cm horizontally, ± 13 cm vertically relative to the central position point

  • Provides calculation and transmission via Ethernet to the data server of the following eye tracking results: gaze direction coordinates (gazeX, gazeY) in pixel coordinates of the content presentation screen, as well as pupil diameter

  • The respondent's chairs and eye-tracker racks can be positioned linearly or radially. This is due to the fact that the eye tracker is able to accurately determine the direction of the gaze within the angle between the screen and the eye tracker ± 45 °.

  • N-Trend-ET500 comes with standalone, non-cloud based data processing software to ensure confidentiality of information.

EEG

N-Trend-EEG20

  • The number of EEG registration channels - 20 (in accordance with the international EEG registration system according to the 10-20 scheme), the number of EOG channels - 2, the number of ECG channels - 1, YES - 1 sensor

  • Work on solid gel electrodes (does not leave gel marks on the hair, does not require shampooing)

  • Simultaneous registration of EEG, as well as interelectrode potentials and sub-electrode resistances (Rx) from the same channels to control the quality of EEG registration

  • The bit width of the ADC of the autonomous unit of the respondent is 24 bits. Physiological signal sampling rate - 250 Hz

  • EEG, ECG frequency band from 0.16 to 70 Hz

  • Maximum differential input AC voltage before signal limiting - not less than 8 mV (peak to peak)

  • Allowable DC bias voltage - not less than ± 300mV. Common-mode noise rejection ratio - not less than 120 dB. Input resistance - not less than 200 MΩ

  • Indication of electrode resistance and electrode separation on the PC screen in telemetry mode

  • The channel of registration of motor activity (DA) of the head using the built-in 3-axis accelerometer sensor

  • Time of continuous operation from accumulator or battery - not less than 3 hours

BIOBRACELET

N-Trend-BIO

  • The wireless physiological module provides registration of photoplethysmogram (PPG), galvanic skin response (GSR) and electrocardiogram (ECG)

  • Structurally fixed on the arm with the location on the medial-ulnar side of the hand (edge of the palm)

  • The built-in photoplethysmogram (PPG) sensor provides stable recording of the pulse curve signal from the medial-ulnar side of the hand (palm ribs)

  • PPG channel frequency band from 0.16 to 30 Hz

  • The recording range of the signal of electrodermal activity (galvanic skin response) is from 1 to 100 μS, while the noise swing in the channel is not more than 0.2 μS

  • There is a connector for connecting a conductor with an electrode used to record an ECG relative to another electrode built into the physiological module and having direct galvanic contact with the skin of the wrist or thenar of the hand

  • ECG recording band from 0.16 to 30 Hz. ECG recording range - 8 mV.

  • Time of continuous operation from accumulator or battery - not less than 10 hours

PPG

N-Trend-PPG

  • Data registration is carried out from the earlobe

  • PPG ear sensor channel frequency band from 0.16 to 30 Hz

  • Time of continuous operation from accumulator or battery - not less than 10 hours

PRIMEBOX

Prime Box (N-Trend - PrimeBox)

  • Possibility of connecting a photo sensor

  • Ultra-precise recording of the time of pressing the button (up to 1 ms)

  • Body and natural wood

How it all works together

Thanks to a specially designed concentrator of neurophysiological signals (CNS), data collection from wireless modules, their synchronisation and transmission to the data server is provided seamlessly.

The screen of the concentrator contains information about the sub-electrode resistance for all channels, presence of eyes in the area of the eye-tracker, as well as polygraph data and battery level of all devices.

Measurement results are uploaded to the cloud data processing system, where data processing is generated, followed by a report that consists of general findings, problems and solutions.

Servers: for Russian users of the system, all processing facilities and servers are located on the territory of the Russian Federation.

How to interpret a signal

To assess the results of neurotesting, specially designed metrics are used. Metrics - are indicators for assessing the effectiveness of marketing communications: interest, attention, emotion, memorisation, cognitive load, etc. These metrics are the result of interpretation of neurophysiological signals.

At the stage of creating any neurolaboratory, Neurotrend specialists train users on how to interpret, analyse and apply the gathered metrics.

To date, Neurotrend has developed and validated more than 25 metrics for various types of content in relation to various psychophysiological reactions of respondents.
